Selection factors of refractory materials for glass kiln

What factors should be understood before selecting refractory materials for glass melting furnaces?

① Service life of the furnace;

② Glass quality requirements;

③ Production capacity, i.e., how much melting rate and melting temperature should be selected;

④ Insulation conditions, in order to save fuel, which parts need to be insulated;

⑤ Economic efficiency, i.e., how much investment is required.

What requirements should refractory materials for glass tank kiln masonry meet?

① It should have high softening and melting temperatures, and the general refractoriness should not be less than 1580℃.

② It should have sufficient mechanical strength to resist impact, friction, high-temperature and high-speed flames, smoke and dust erosion and other mechanical effects.

③ The high-temperature structure has good strength and can withstand mechanical loads for a long time at operating temperature.

④ It has strong resistance to the erosion of various components of molten batch materials, molten glass and gaseous substances.

⑤ The pollution to glass should be small.

⑥ Good resistance to rapid cooling and heating (thermal shock).

⑦ Good high-temperature volume stability. Small residual shrinkage or expansion.

⑧ Thermal properties such as heat capacity, thermal expansion, and thermal conductivity meet the use requirements.

⑨ The shape is regular and the size is accurate.

⑩ Other requirements proposed according to the use conditions (such as the electrical properties of electrode bricks must meet the use requirements). Refractory materials must be selected according to the different erosion conditions of various parts of the tank furnace.What requirements should refractory materials for glass tank kiln masonry meet?
