The structure of a glass kiln is divided into 4 parts: 1. Melting area, 2. Heat source supply, 3. Waste heat recovery, 4. Smoke exhaust and gas supply.
Glass kilns use different refractory materials in different positions because the working conditions and environmental requirements faced by different parts are quite different.
Melting area: divided into feeding port, melting, clarification and homogenization area, horizontal and branch passages (or cooling areas) and partitions (or necks), etc.;
AZS31#, 33#, 36#: In the melting area of the glass kiln, due to the influence of high temperature and glass corrosion, fused zirconium corundum bricks are usually used. This material has good resistance to high temperature and corrosion.
The use condition of the pool bottom is to contact and flush with the glass liquid, and there must be no pollution to the glass liquid. It has high mechanical strength, and the paving bricks also use α·β fused corundum bricks.
Heat source supply: natural gas system or other fuel pipelines, heat storage chamber, small furnace, etc.;
Furnace wall and furnace roof:
Refractory bricks: The furnace wall and furnace roof of the glass kiln generally use high-alumina bricks or silica bricks, which can withstand high temperatures and provide sufficient structural strength.
Waste heat recovery: checker bricks, waste heat boilers, etc.;
Smoke exhaust and air supply: main flue, branch flue, combustion-supporting air duct;
Insulation layer:
Refractory fiber: In some areas that require insulation, such as the insulation layer of the furnace wall, refractory fibers such as ceramic fibers or graphite fibers may be used.
Refractory castables: The door and threshold of the glass kiln usually require good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, so refractory castables may be used.
In general, the selection of refractory materials in glass kilns is affected by many factors, including operating temperature, chemical environment, thermal stress, etc. When selecting and designing refractory materials, these factors need to be considered comprehensively to ensure the operating efficiency and long life of the glass kiln.
