Silica brick introduction:
Silica brick for glass melting furnace refers to silica refractory products used for high-temperature parts of glass kiln (but not in contact with glass liquid).Tank kiln is a large masonry with a complex constructed by a variety of refractory materials. Its top crown is mostly made of silica brick, breast wall and port crown, all of which were once made of silica brick. Since the 1970s, some of them have been replaced by fused cast AZS block and fused cast alumina bock,Some glass furnace also use silica bricks for the crown of the regenerator and for checker bricks
Characters of silica brick for glass melting kiln:
1. high temperature stable volume, no furnace changes caused by temperature fluctuation, Due to the high refractoriness under load and creep rate of silica brick, glass kiln under 1600 ℃ can keep body not deformation, keep structure stable.
2.No pollution to the glass liquid.SiO2 is the main component of silicon brick, if there is a drop or surface melting, it does not affect the quality of glass liquid;
3.Resistance to chemical erosion.The silicon brick of the superstructure is corroded by the gas containing R2O in the glass ingredients, and a smooth metamorphic layer is formed on the surface, so as to lower the erosion speed and play a protective role.
4.small volume density, this can reduce the weight of furnace body.
