Silica-molybdenum brick and magnesia-alumina spinel brick are two different types of refractory bricks, which have some major differences in material composition and application fields.

 

Material composition:

Physical and chemical properties of silica-molybdenum bricks "Silicon" in silica-molybdenum bricks refers to silicon carbide, and "Mo" refers to mullite. Uses:

Silicon-molybdenum bricks: suitable for high-temperature environments such as high-temperature industrial furnaces and electric furnaces, with good thermal shock stability and fire resistance.

Magnesium-aluminum spinel bricks: mainly used in industrial furnaces with high requirements for refractory materials such as cement kilns and glass kilns, especially under alkaline conditions, because spinel has a certain resistance to alkaline materials.

 

Performance characteristics:

Silicon-molybdenum bricks: have high heat resistance and fire resistance, and have high requirements for thermal shock stability under high temperature conditions. Magnesium-aluminum spinel bricks: have good alkali resistance and corrosion resistance, and are suitable for environments with more alkaline substances.
